The neocon dragon Kagan rears his ugly head again

April 29, 2008

As reported by BBC the arch-neoconservative Robert Kagan and founder of the venerable bullshit factory Project for the New American century has shows his ugly head once again this time proclaiming that “history has resumed its course”, in reference to the vapid pinnacle of intellectual conservative propaganda by Fukuyama The End of History. Furthermore in Kagan’s role as a war intellectual and a foreign relations advisor to the presidential candidate John McCain, he has persuaded President Bush for the catastrophic surge, which according to an article in Foreign Affairs is

… is not linked to any sustainable plan for building a viable Iraqi state and may even have made such an outcome less likely — by stoking the revanchist fantasies of Sunni tribes and pitting them against the central government.

Furthermore he is further stoking the flames of hysterical fear and hatred towards China and Russia which he still percieves as the enemy. The British military historian Corelli Barnett quoted by BBC dismisses such notions:

Why do they see a threat in China? China has an enormous stake in the health of the American economy.

and Russia

Equally, with Russia, Putin worries me less than George Bush, who has invaded Iraq. Putin is simply a good, old-fashioned, cynical, nationalist politician who advances Russia’s interests like Metternich and Bismarck did for Germany.

So that’s that. The multi-headed right wing hydra will live no matter how many of its heads get chopped off.
