Yesterday the House appropriations subcommittee for Commerce, Justice and Science has called for an increased spending for NSF, NIST, NASA and NOAA. Most importantly the NASA budget is set to increase by $180 million to exceed president’s proposal of $5.52 billion and is set to include an earmark for the Space Interferometry Mission whose budget has been gutted last year and is on the verge of cancellation.
